Toyota and onX Offroad Host Trail Revival Project in Cheboygan Area

Cheboygan, Mich. – Toyota and onX Offroad recently partnered with Cycle Conservation Clubs of Michigan to bring the Trail Revival Project to Northern Michigan, a couple of months after a historic ice storm ravaged the area. Several volunteers, armed with chain saws, shovels and assorted tools, helped restore and retain off-road access at the Black Lake and Bummers Roost Trails. The Trail Revival Project addresses the growing concern of trail deterioration due to overuse and under-resourced land management. By engaging local communities, the national initiative aims to preserve trail access and protect public lands for future generations.

onX is a company that provides GPS mapping and navigation tools for outdoor enthusiasts, primarily hunters, off-roaders, and hikers.

“Toyota is proud to partner with onX to support critical trail restoration efforts across the country,” said Brock Cartlidge, senior manager of truck marketing for Toyota Motor North America. “Our recent project in Northern Michigan focused on the Black Mountain Forest trails, a beloved destination for off-roaders and outdoor enthusiasts. After a devastating ice storm earlier this year, nearly 200 miles of trail are at risk of closure. We’re honored to play a role in preserving access to these trails and helping the community recover.”

“At a time when access to public lands is feeling increasingly uncertain, we’re inviting the outdoor community to help protect the places they love” -onX brand director Frances Kershaw
